"Home Theater Chairs"

Home theater chair manufacturers would generally be classified on the basis of the type of material they use in the construction of chairs or other seating.

As opposed to normal or ordinary furniture manufacturers, home theater chairs are differentiated by the attention to detail, with respect to the kind of material used, in attempting to control the rate of absorption, reflection, diffraction of sound, in addition to its resonance features.

With the genre of home theater systems emerging to cater to the increasing need for the theater or movie experience at home, the audio or perception of the sound is what makes the difference between ordinary viewing and the theater experience. Sound, which is essentially compression waves, is perceived by the human ear in varying degrees. The factors that affect the intensity of the sound level, as also the timbre or quality of sound is variously influenced by room acoustics and harmonics.

The acoustic features vary from room to room depending on the size, dimension and shape of the room. An average room with three parallel sets of walls is highly susceptible to standing waves, which cause reverberations, besides early or late echoes. The kind of and the walls of the room will result in varying degrees of sound reflection, absorption, diffraction etc., all of which affect the intensity and quality of the sound perceived by the ear.

And of course, the concept of harmonics which is caused by resonance or sympathetic vibration caused in other articles in the room that include furniture as well, is particularly relevant for home theater seating furniture since the listener is actually sitting on this piece of furniture while watching the video-audio presentation. However, be warned; excess comfort and listening pleasure from your home theater chairs can leave you glued to the chair when you should be doing something else!
